Extra nutritious chocolate milk – makes two glasses

Isn’t it funny that two of the biggest pleasures for every parent – sleeping and eating – are often not that popular with the kids? I haven’t found a solution for the sleep issue yet, but this chocolate milk is a great and quick way to deal with calorie lows. Lazy breakfast eaters can top up their calorie intake drinking it on the way to school or keep a bottle in your buggy in case your toddler - who’s in the midst of a picky eater phase - has yet another low energy related meltdown, which needs quick resolving.

What you need:

400ml unsweetened plant milk

1 small banana – cut into a few chunks

1 tbsp tahini or almond butter*

1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

½- 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup

Pinch of cinnamon for a warming winter touch

*Sesame seeds require a lot less water to grow than almonds and are a great source of calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus and zinc as well as several B Vitamins.

How you do it:

Blend everything in a food processor or using a hand held blender.

Done!
